What are realistic expectations for next year?

Everyone has such high expectations for next year. We've been more horrible than mediocre for the last decade plus. What are reasonable goals to achieve next year? I know everyone wants to be ranked and make the tourney- is that possible?

6 wins would go down as the worst season in SMU history, and that would be a miracle??

I think it is tough to guess at this point until we see all the guys together but I believe we can get to 20 wins based on the increased depth and talent. If we landed Frazier, we could potentially be very good.

Depends on schedule. I expect we'll play a schedule w/requisite rpi and sos, especially after yesterday. I'd like to think we make the NIT

Next year is a year of transition, blending and facing the reality of playing teams with much greater talent. Obviously, the non-conference schedule will dictate the overall won/loss record with limited conference expectations. Twelve wins would be a very good season as we blend, learn the LB system and gain the experience of playing better teams.

i expect a ton of improvement - even with a tougher schedule. 20 wins That also assumes we keep who we have (academics always a question with basketball) and we pick up some shooting help. I know we have a ton of help coming inside.

LB can go 10 deep next year without much drop off, instead of 6. That alone should be the diffeence since you pick up probably half the 8 or so games we lost by less then 5 points

IF next years team had played this years schedule, 25 wins. I bet we schedule up in a big way next year. Larry Brown strikes me as knowing nothing about RPI or SOS, other than he needs to play a tough schedule being SMU. I'd love to see his program as road warrior the way Tarks teams were. They never got home & homes, just played the best wherever they had hoops and lights. Brown probably doesnt have to do that, but talk about finding out what you have. Who can play, who can't

Tough scheduling would probably benefit us - if we could rise to the occasion- seeing as a 30 win memphis team earned "only" a 6 seed.
