With Frazier on board, who's out?

First of all, awesome news about KF. What a massive, massive signing for LB and the program.

My question is, by my count with KF, Moreira, Brown, and Moore committed for 2013, we'll have 16 guys on scholarship- so we have to get rid of three, right? If so, who does that leave as the odd men out?

Frontcourt (8)- Williams, Cunningham, Moreira, Kennedy, Dickerson, Ofoegbu, Mbargorba, B. Moore

Backcourt (8)- Russell, Head, Manuel, Jones, N. Moore, Bernardi, Frazier, Brown

Tough to make cuts out of that, but probably a good problem (for the program) to have.

You can cut Dickerson and Bernardi probably. Then you only got one more to go, maybe someone will transfer.

There were 4 freshman. Guess you are not including Blaise?

as things now stand, at least 3 out of 4 among Ofoegbu, Dickerson, Bernardi and Blaise will not be renewed. It's tough on those guys knowing that none of them are likely to finish school here at SMU. They would all be wise to be looking for a school where they can have some stability and finish their college careers. I think Bernardi could be a big time scorer for the right program and Uche showed flashes that he can play Division I bball...but this staff is looking to take the program to a different level and guys WILL be recruited over.

If Blaise applied for a medical redshirt this season he could transfer and use his "real" redshirt while he sits out he could have four years to play somewhere else

What about Garrett Wilson? According to the official stats sheet he only played 8 minutes last season and didn't score any points. Is he a walk-on?

Yes, he's a walk-on so he doesn't count towards the scholarship limit.

I think there is a chance that Dickinson, being a Brown recruit, may be chosen to stay ahead of Blaise. Before he injured his shoulder I had heard Blaise was not living up to his billing. Personally, I hope that Blaise stays and gets to the level of play we (and Doh) think he is capable of. It is going to be interesting to see how this shakes out.

Don't you have to get through your four years generally before you can apply for a medical hardship?

I wonder if some of the freshman came knowing that they were one and done but came for the chance to work with Brown and with a promise that he would help get thim to another school to play the rest of their college years.
