2nd or 3rd best team in Tx next year?

We've got a ton of unknowns next year but are we going to be as good as the second or third best program in Tx next year? Only rivals would be Baylor, A&M, Houston (some nice young players) and possibly UTEP with their miraculous class. The wheels have come off the Texas train. With the sad state of bball in Texas, I think our sights are a lot higher than this in the long run.

We should know Brown's system pretty well with the 3 transfers/existing players, have great depth and a massive influx of talent. Only problem should be blending a LOT of new players in...

Some Texas teams need to step up given none made the tournament last year. Why not it be SMU? The two Texas teams in the AAC are definitely on the upswing.

We may be one of the better teams in Texas next year, but we are going to have a lot of new faces that will need to develop some chemistry on the floor quickly if we are going to get to 18 plus wins. We will likely have games against the following teams next year:

UVA
Texas A&M
Kansas State
Memphis
Louisville
Temple
Cincinnati
UConn


That's stiff competition. We will be hell on wheels but I don't know that we will be the best team in the state next season. Now if we land Mudiay and Frazier stays for his second year then we may be one of the top teams in the country for 2014-15.

We need to open Moody and conference with a sure fire win to build confidence then get Louisville or UConn in here imo. We don't want to start in a very tough conference 0-1. We need to tap the breaks on overly aggressive scheduling imo.
