The Mohegan Sun has a nice arena, but it is in the middle of nowhere. I can't see their site drawing big (any) crowds to games not involving Uconn. I could see them getting the women's tourney.

The Mohegan Sun has a nice arena, but it is in the middle of nowhere. I can't see their site drawing big (any) crowds to games not involving Uconn. I could see them getting the women's tourney.

We had a good women's team for CUSA but the AAC is another universe. Next year two final four teams in our conference. This will be a pretty good conference for women's hoops. And it appears that a rising tide catches all ships and our women are going to be in the recruiting conversation more and more.

I could see the women's tourney moving from the XL Center to Mohegan. The Uconn women are probably the biggest draw in women's college sports. Keeping the tourney close to them would be smart.

More like it's sort of the same principle as the Fighting Irsh of Notre Dame or the Dallas Black Dance Theatre. A lot of African American people find the n word offensive whether it is spelled with an "er" or an "a" at the end so that would not be a fair comparison. Also they called it The Mohegan (actual non offensive tribe name) Sun not the Redskin (offensive term towards Indians) Sun.
