Conneticut Tribal Casino bidding for AAC Tourneyhttp://espn.go.com/womens-college-baske ... tournament
I hope they don't get it personally. 1. its far away from most everyone 2 playing at a non vegas or atlantic city casino in conn just sounds small time amd gimmicky BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.

The Mohegan Sun has a nice arena, but it is in the middle of nowhere. I can't see their site drawing big (any) crowds to games not involving Uconn. I could see them getting the women's tourney. Do unto others before they do unto you!!

Re: Conneticut Tribal Casino bidding for AAC TourneyIf the Mohegan Sun host the tournament, I hope there's a way they can put a "one arm bandit" for each seat.

Re: Conneticut Tribal Casino bidding for AAC TourneySo, James Fenemore Cooper lied, and I had to read that boring book for nothing. On the subject, how huge will attendance be at a women's tournament? UConn is the class of AAC for now. We had a good women's team for CUSA but the AAC is another universe. Next year two final four teams in our conference. This will be a pretty good conference for women's hoops. And it appears that a rising tide catches all ships and our women are going to be in the recruiting conversation more and more.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Conneticut Tribal Casino bidding for AAC Tourney
That's the Mohicans Women's tourney is never a huge draw, but people in Connecticut do like women's hoops
Re: Conneticut Tribal Casino bidding for AAC Tourney
I could see the women's tourney moving from the XL Center to Mohegan. The Uconn women are probably the biggest draw in women's college sports. Keeping the tourney close to them would be smart. Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: Conneticut Tribal Casino bidding for AAC TourneyJust scattershooting, but why is the only place that it is not considered offensive to name after a Native American tribe a gambling casino ?
Re: Conneticut Tribal Casino bidding for AAC Tourney
because they own the casino. it's sort of the same principle as an n-bomb. BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: Conneticut Tribal Casino bidding for AAC TourneyMore like it's sort of the same principle as the Fighting Irsh of Notre Dame or the Dallas Black Dance Theatre. A lot of African American people find the n word offensive whether it is spelled with an "er" or an "a" at the end so that would not be a fair comparison. Also they called it The Mohegan (actual non offensive tribe name) Sun not the Redskin (offensive term towards Indians) Sun.

Re: Conneticut Tribal Casino bidding for AAC TourneyJeep- I mean Chief Grand Cherokee thinks this is a bad idea.
Re: Conneticut Tribal Casino bidding for AAC TourneyMore like Germantown, CT would probably be offensive if it were called Krauttown, CT.
