Bernardi Transferring

Postby Smerkins » Tue Jun 25, 2013 8:42 pm

SMU rising sophomore SG Brian Bernardi has obtained his release and will transfer, sources told @SNYtv- @AdamZagoria

https://twitter.com/AdamZagoria/status/ ... 1021483010

So then we have space on the roster for one more guy. Could we bring in a transfer that would be immediately eligible (already graduated but still has eligibility like Gilbert.)?

Interesting management of the roster. Going forward we have 3 FR, 2 SO, 5 JR, and 2 SR players on scholarship.

On that Twitter feed, someone said he was headed to Iona.

Wherever he ends up, I wish Brian the best of luck.

He will be fine. Lots of other programs have already shown interest. I always thought the ball was going in after it left his hand.

Saw a story that George Washington, which recruited him out of HS, is pursuing him again. Great school.

Good luck Brian.

My guess is that he wanted to be closer to home. Hope everything is OK at home.
Thanks for your work as a freshman, Brian, and best of luck.

So how is LB going to fill the scholarship he leaves behind?

Perhaps Blaise is staying. My son has been at SMU basketball camp all week and Blaise has been there. LB introduced him to the kids with the other SMU players.

Thought he (Blaise) was going to Boston U? Since he was released by SMU, if they have him back his scholarship, would he eligible immediately?

Best of luck to him. Sorry to see him go but I'm sure LB will have another stud to take his place.

Kyle Wiltjer is transferring from Kentucky. Maybe we could snag him? Averaged 10 ppg for them last year and was SEC Sixth Man of the Year

Now that would be interesting.

I have been taking summer classes and have seen him around as well. Was almost going to ask him if he was still transferring, but thought it might be a touchy subject.
