Most important factor of the next 4 years for the SMU basketball program is to keep Larry Brown's son happy and excited about being in school at SMU.

I'm a nobody in the world of SMU athletics and I certainly don't have a line of sight into LB's plans. But based on what I'm seeing, I think his goal is to win the NCAA tourney with SMU. 2014-2015 may be his shot to do it, especically if we get Myles Turner. I don't see him staying much past that. I could be wrong, but that's my guess.
Imagine the 2014-2015 squad with Mudiay, Frazier, Turner, Moriera as a senior, Sterling Brown, Crandell Head as a senior, Ben Moore, Markus Kennedy, Nic Moore . . .plus Cannen, Jalen Jones, etc. I don't want to leave anyone out, but you get the picture. That team would have a shot to win the whole thing.

I don't think it's just a question of Larry Brown anymore.
Mudai is considered by some to be the #1 recruit in the country. Turner is in the top 3 as well. Their reason for going to SMU has to be centered around the notion that Brown is the guy to get them to the NBA, and nowadays that's as quick as possible. It has to be considered that they could be one-and-done's. I don't advocate this, I just think that's the reality of the situation in today's college b-ball.
A four year plan would be great. I just think that today you have to think in terms of two year plans.

I am talking about keeping Larry Brown at SMU for the next 4 years. He can bring in 5 one and donesevery year as far as I am concerned, I just want him to stay. He mentioned somewhere that he was excited about working there while his son was in school.

My opinion is that LB really did miss basketball and found himself miserable and without anything to do before the SMU job. He was just hanging around KY, Villanova and Kansas like a lost kid. I think he understands that because of his age that this is his last job and that he is in the job for an extended period of time so long as he is enjoying himself and having fun. I think secretly he wants another NCAA championship and will stay long enough to give that goal some serious runs.
