Emmanuel Mudiay's brother will make practice perfect for SMU, but that's it(well at least they did not try to pedal the knee-jerk story that EM must have been paid - my comment)
Western Texas College coach Larren Silver met up with one of his former players, Jean-Micheal Mudiay, in the lobby of a high school gym at an AAU tournament this summer. They talked for a little while. Then Mudiay went to one side of the gym to watch from the family section as his little brother played, and Silver went to the opposite bleachers to join the college coaches.
Given that he averaged 3 points per game at the junior college level, Jean-Micheal Mudiay, right, can't be expected to contribute much at SMU. (Photo courtesy Western Texas College) "I texted him and said, 'Emmanuel is really good,' " Silver told Sporting News.
"And then I texted him a second time and said, 'But he's not as tough as you.' "
According to the NJCAA, Jean-Michael Mudiay averaged 3.5 points and 3.4 rebounds for Western Texas as a junior college sophomore, and yet it turned out he was one of the most important recruits in the class of 2013. He enrolled quietly at SMU this week, eager to pursue a major in sports management. A 6-3, 205-pound junior shooting guard, Jean-Micheal should be added to the Mustangs' official roster early next week.
And come November, Emmanuel Mudiay, the No. 3-ranked prep prospect in the 2014 class, is expected to sign a letter of intent to join the Mustangs next fall.

Perfect. You need great role players to fill out the roster. Need the guys who practice hard, work hard, keep the starters honest, and who go to class and graduate on time. Because there will be those who don't.

Rumor has it: As great a guy Jean is in the locker room, he's even greater off the court.

Breaking news: Emmanuel Mudiay is a 5 star basketball player who has a brother that is a great locker room presence and even better outside the lines.

What about the Mudiay's cousin, and possible SMU football commit, Josh Ehambe? Rumor has it, that as great as he is in the locker room, he's even better off the gridiron.

Credit to Mr. & Mrs. Mudiay for raising children, that are not only great in the locker room. But, are great people away from the locker room.
