Well that should give us a feel for things. SMU Baylor could end up being a giant rivalry.

Is this actually a tournament or more like a showcase with 2 games back to back?

It is 6 teams playing 3 games, not a tournament. We play tcu, so we will not get a shot at Baylor.

Interesting Sporting News article from back in May:
bd Global, an event management and PR firm that also staged last season’s Texas vs. UCLA game in Houston, is looking to feature some of the nation’s best teams at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, where the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and NHL’s Dallas Stars play.
Cowboys Stadium, which hosted a regional this past year, will host the 2014 Final Four.
The event could feature as many as four games, bd Global president Brooks Downing told ESPN.com. And perhaps as half of the event’s participants would come from the Big 12, given the geographic proximity.
Dallas has been chosen as this year’s site because the city will host the 2014 Final Four. If this event goes well, the plan would be to roll out similar annual events in the cities that will host future Final Fours. The 2015 Final Four will be in Indianapolis, while the 2016 event will come to Houston.
"We want this to serve as the tip-off to the season," Downing told ESPN.com. "The plan is to generate a lot of excitement and hype about college basketball in the city that's hosting the Final Four."

Texas bailed in June I believe. They are still looking for a replacement to play LSU is what I have read.

Rumors had been floating around that Wichita St would replace Texas. . . But, that was right after Texas bailed.

Will this game be included for season ticket holders? I would imagine no since it is run by a 3rd party, but SMU may have worked a deal since we are the local team and having our season ticket holders attend would boost attendance for other games.

bd Global is the firm that organized and marketed the UT/UCLA game at Reliant Stadium in Houston a year or two ago. I believe the official attendance for the game was 2,900. I saw the highlights and it looked like 100 people were there. Not sure what was the cause, but it was a massive failure.

Does anybody know a good person to contact in the Athletic Department regarding student ticketing for this event?
Thanks.
