With all the new freshman and transfers playing together in regular season games I just wanted to know what everyone thought.

with just about any other coach I would say 5-10. Larry will grind on them so hard in practice they will know each others kindergarten nick names before game one.

I say give them 8 games.

That is the big question mark? One big plus is that the 3 transfers were able to practice with the team all last year. Frazier, assuming he is eligible, and Moreira are the biggest unknowns. But if anyone can get them to jell (i dont know, but I gave in) quickly, it's LB.

with this team being at least 10 players deep, I expect a lot of experimentation with different combinations of players so I doubt they get settled until shortly before conference play begins.

Think they will hit the ground running from the opening game 11/8

I think it will take 5-10 games if not more. Then again, it depends on your definition and expectations for the team. To me it involves playing up to the level of their individual talents in which case they would need to make the NCAA tournament and I know that is not the general consensus in terms of expectations.

See SMU with a 5-1 record heading in to the Virginia game at the Corpus Christi Tournament. Only loss I see in the 1st 6 games is @Arkansas. The five to 10 games Shangri-La attitude is another coach in another sport.

It is also about chemistry and as stated above he will probably have to experiment with different lineups. It is about more than just individual talent.

Arkansas still does not have a shooter. They have a couple of highly ranked freshmen bigger guys coming in but hopefully we will catch them early enough that we may be able to give them a good game.

First two games right off the bat will be tough with TCU and Arkansas. Rhode Island beat us last year and the will be the second game of the year.
