Couple of notes:
His most important comment was that he wants to get students to games and that he is willing to work with anyone who has good ideas. Said that he needs a full arena to recruit, and the students need to be there.
He was asked about the depth of the team and said that he thought that as the season progressed he would probably tighten up the playing rotation.
Praised Ben Moore. Said that he personally believes he was one of the best freshman in his class even if the rankings don't reflect it.
Talked about current recruiting. Said they were trying to get "two athletes" and that obviously the class would be smaller because of the scholly situation, but should still be a good one.
I asked about open practices, and he said once Moody is completed he would be happy to host some open practices.

He gets it! I hope the students show. Smerkins, I know you'll do you part to get them there.

With the new student section encompassing the entire sideline, it could be huge to have it full and rowdy. We absolutely must create a home court advantage and it starts there.

I knew Ben Moore was good. You don't get to be a finalist for Mr Basketball in Illinois for nothing. Same with Sterling Brown.

Not that many to be honest, but Coach Brown was a last minute add to the panel. Originally the meeting had reps from parking, IT, diversity, ect so students could ask about issues pertaining to those topics. An email was sent out an hour before saying that coach would make an appearance.

I'm confident the new arena will be full for the majority of games. If students don't go now they never will

Students will come out for the basketball program. I have no concerns there.

bummer they will be on Christmas break for the first game in moody.
If the whole side is reserved for Students, I hope they have a plan to fill those seats during the break.

I have seen one or two posts about students saying they are coming back to campus early for the game. Do classes start on the 6th? If so, there may be a number of them coming for the game if Brown gets them stirred up.

Just need a new interterm course... how about something like sports history, sports management, sports statistics? Extra credit for attending games.

Larry brown was a last minute plus it was the first night of fall break. Personally I had no motivation to listen to the panel without brown and didn't know he would come until late. A lot of Dallas kids will go to the first moody game and I will be flying back from California to see the first game against moody.

Actually hanging a huge poster of each of the starters, a different one on each frat house on SMU blvd (one each since sig ep is no more) would be a really cool idea to promote the upcoming season and or new moody.

Unfortunately classes don't start until the 17th (which is the Friday before MLK day which we have off...... Don't get me started)
