Rick Pitino: SMU men's basketball is 'on the rise'
Being a lame duck didn’t stop Pitino from promoting the league he’s in for now.
“You look at Memphis will be a top 10 team, Cincinnati a top 20 team, Temple a top 30 team. SMU’s on the rise. We’re probably a top 5 team preseason,†Pitino said. “So you have highly ranked basketball teams, outstanding coaches, great fan support, and there’s places for me I have not coached at and I’m looking forward to.â€

man to man D; pick 'em up at the airport. Might need to play 10 guys every night to keep the intensity up. How many minutes everyone gets and what rotations we might see will be interesting and it will make the non-conference games fun to watch with the coaches experimenting with different combinations. I don't expect anyone to see more than 35 minutes a game this year. Will be very different from last year when it seemed like all our starters had to play 35 minutes or more
