To allow the team to build chemistry.

Saw SMU heading to scrimmage at CU today. Asked @LarryBrownSMU how team is. He said, "Not very good right now but we will be." Much improved

There might be some truth to that tweet. I went to some practices last week and they were not as sharp as LB would have liked given the amount of time they have been practicing. But they still have a week of practicing to go.

I say it will be about 5 to 10 games for the team to jell. 8 new players is almost like having a completely new team.

I am too old to keep being patient with all of our athletic teams. I want to see someone do something good while I am still alive. Other schools turn things around quickly. I am confident that Larry Brown has the ammunition and can load it and fire this year. Not talking National Championship but I am talking better than predicted and no excuses for youth, systems, lights in the eyes, or anything else.

I am rallying the troops to play under the banner of my new motto:

WIN BEFORE I DIE!!.

I think they will do well this year but I but they may need some time to develop chemistry if they do not do it by next week. They will be much improved but they are not where Coach Brown wants the to be as off this week. No one is saying wait until next year but we may have to wait a few games win or lose to get things like Coach Brown wants. But we do have all of next week to get ready.

Agreed, it's a completely new team. Lot of new guys, young guns, JUCOs to integrate. I also suspect it will take a bit of time for the returning starters to come to terms with the fact that they won't be starting this year because there is a freshman or JUCO transfer, or other transfer that is just plain better. I wouldn't think they would take it well, I sure as heck wouldn't.

Weren't they allowed to practice with team last year? Three new guys, yes, but the rest were here. Coach speak if you ask me...I hope.

Only 3 of the 8 new players practiced with the team last year in Nic Moore, Crandall Head, and Marcue Kennedy. We have 5 totally new guys in Frazier, Ben Moore, Sterling Brown, Moreira, and Jean Mudiay who were not here last year. Even at that practicing and playing a real game are not exactly the same thing.

With the non-conference schedule we have, an decent team goes 18-13. A good team goes 21-10. A not very good team goes 15-16.

I expect around 18 wins because of all the new parts, getting a win in the conference tourney and going to the NIT.

20 wins I think gets us to the NCAA because of decent teams in conference.

Even with the new parts, we should have 10 wins going into conference.

I would tend to agree with that.

It would be good to have at least 10 wins going into a tough conference.
