Scouting TC-who?

This is what I know based on last year's game, reading previews and watching a few YouTube clips...

While TCU is picked at the bottom of the Big XII, they will be improved. Trent Johnson has their recruiting on an upswing. They landed their highest ranked recruit in years with Prime Prep center Karviar Shepherd who was ranked #65 in the 2013 class. They also signed Mark Price's son, a 3-star forward out of Florida. Both guys are projected as starters.

TCU's top returning scoring, Kyan Anderson, is a guard who can stroke it from the outside. Their other projected starting guard will be senior Jarvis Ray, who had 14 points against year. He had a foot injury that ended his season last year but I heard he is back to 100%. Also, if you remember last year's game, TCU lost one of their best players, forward Amric Fields, :10 into the game with a knee injury that ended his season. If healthy, he is probably their most talented returning player. Sr. Devonta Abron is their backup big who was their leading rebounder and shot blocker last season. He's a Dallas kid and will likely have a lot of motivation in this game.

Projected starting five:
G Kyan Anderson - Jr.
G Jarvis Ray - Sr.
F Amric Fields - Jr.
F Hudson Price - Fr.
C Karviar Shepherd - Fr.

We should handle TCU as scoring is going to be an issue for their squad but they will be more talented than last year. Hopefully we can jump on them early and get a lead because I don't believe they will play well from behind due to their lack of scoring.

TCU had a scrimmage last weekend against Arkansas-Fort Smith where they won, 81-74 . The recap indicates they were encouraged by scoring 81 points. Bright spots were Ray who was the leading scoring with 18 points. Shepherd had a nice game with 16 and 10. Freshman Brandon Parrish, who was a top 150 player, had 10 points coming off the bench.

They should have posted schedules in the concourse at Amon Carter.

According to TCwho's "KF." Amric Fields is out until December from that knee injury suffered against SMU. And I know Devonte Abrons is out for the year with a torn Achilles.

They were counting on Abrons. That injury hurt them. As for Fields, freshman Parrish might start in his place.

#TCU F Amric Fields won't be ready to play in Friday's opener vs. #SMU, Trent Johnson said.

I think Parrish starts regardless.
