Who's left on Brown's board that is still realistic? Turner is a major long-shot but who are the guys he's in on? I really haven't heard much buzz and this is the only SMU board I'm on. I talked to some guys and nobody seems to think there's a particular player that will be in the class at this point with Mudiay. TIA

Jonah Bolden. . . Said that UCLA, Arizona, and SMU were recruiting him the hardest

That would be a heck of a coup, I think he's a tough pull away from Zona right now though.

We are also in on Melvin Swift, PF from Houston Yates. I believe we are in his final five with Baylor, UConn, UMass and Memphis

The longer Myles Turner doesn't commit elsewhere, the better. Can't wait for him to see New Moody rocking in January/February

Hopefully attendance is much better than these first few...

Why aren't we going after Justise Winslow? It seems that we haven't given him an offer.
http://247sports.com/Recruitment/Justis ... tInterests. While I understand needs shouldn't we be going after the best people left on the table from TX?

SMU had no students to speak of at the Rhode Island game. There were about 2,500-3,000 of us "older" folks. Suppose to run buses for students on the 11/20 game with Texas St. . . We'll see.

The paid attendance was 3,200 but there were actually 1,250-1,500 there. The rest were season ticket holders who didn't show. As LH said, there may have been 20-30 students there.

Yeah I hear ya. Tryin to keep this focused on targets as opposed to attendance before everyone starts defending the attendance lol

lol, no kidding. I just emailed a huge recruiting analyst at TOS, he threw out the two names Turner and Bolden at me. He's his exact response for those interested, "They are working furiously with Turner as you brought up. Jonah Bolden at Findlay Prep is probably their next biggest target. They'd like to find a shooter on the wing as well, but having trouble finding one they think is good enough."

It's sooooo nice to hear that we're not just settling for someone to fill the position and actually wanting to go after someone we feel is good enough. Usually we just fill positions with bodies in football and hope for the best. This kind of effort and energy is what Mustang Nation has been starving for after wandering through the desert for over 20 years.

I replied to his email "Yeah, Bolden was another name I've heard a lot but I don't know how realistic it is to pull from UCLA or Zona. Nonetheless, Brown's doing a heck of a job down there, I don't even think people outside the basketball world even know he coaches at SMU. They're about to find out real quick come March after watching them beat Rhode Island to a pulp." (He knows I'm a huge Buckeye but also watch Larry Brown)... He replied to me with "I'm a huge fan of what they are doing. Have heard they could look into Dorian Pickens from Arizona but he may be off the board soon. Thanks for the email, hope all is well."
