Nic Moore named to conference honor roll for week two

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Freshman forward Ben Moore has been named the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. SMU sophomore point guard Nic Moore was also named to the conference honor roll for his performance in last Monday’s game against Rhode Island.

Ben Moore scored 13 points, pulled down nine rebounds, and added three assists and two blocks in 19 minutes of his second collegiate game. Moore was 6-for-9 from the field, and four of his nine rebounds were on the offensive end.

Nic Moore was 7-for-9 from the floor and 4-for-4 from beyond the arc, leading all scorers with 20 points in SMU’s 89-58 win over Rhode Island. Moore also had a game-high seven assists in his 28 minutes of action last Monday.

SMU will take on Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark., tonight at 7 p.m. CT, before hosting Texas State on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Curtis Culwell Center.
