You have brought big time basketball to the Hilltop. Our team is buying into your system and it shows. Playing man to man defense. Playing under control. Running your offense and looking like a team with the heart and talent to win games and make our SMU Alumni proud. Your coaching staff has not only recruited well, but must be doing a good job behind the scenes with actual coaching in practice. There is definitely now a National Buzz about SMU Hoops and that is because of you Coach Brown. Thank you. Yes there is a significant show of talent vs previous SMU Teams on this years team, but what stands out is the "Team First" Philosophy in their play. No one guy is scoring 30 points a game. No one guy is getting all the minutes. Your guys are running an offense set almost everytime down the court, actually running a structured offense. This is a new era in SMU Hoops! Guys are taking whatever minutes that they can get, producing, you are rewarding them, and they appear to be happy to do whatever it takes to help the team win. Keeping egos on a Basketball Team in check I am guessing has a lot to do with the respect for your coach and then of course coaching. Our guys are playing together on defense and are really starting crash the boards. I can really only chalk this up to coaching. Our guys are even starting to shoot better from the free throw line.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I am so excited about this year's team! Big things to come on the Hilltop! Pony Up!

It will happen, this team is young and will only get better. By January, they may not win every game, but they will raise holy hell with all they encounter! Get it done! Go Mustangs! Thank you LB! #PonyUp

Good posts guys! It is good to be grateful for all that Coach Brown has done for our program.
Coach Brown is not only teaching his man to man defensive, but he is truly coaching up guys. See our first game of the season and compare it to the Virginia game. Players were attacking the basket on offense. Players are rebounding better. Players were playing good help defense. Players were even shooting better from the free throw line. Keep it up Coach Brown. Good things are happening on the Hilltop! Pony Up!

We need some "Resume" wins in non-conference for that. If we go 11-2 non conference, 9-9 in AAC, then you're looking at a bubble bid, depending on the showing in the conference tourney. The win against A&M is huge. If we can sneak 2-3 home wins against the power schools (UL, Memphis, UCONN, Cincy) then we're probably in.
The fact that SMU is getting the ball inside and scoring in the paint shows me that this team is for real. I think we have a chance to make the tourney after seeing strong performances against UVA and A&M.
Wyoming is the next big test. Those guys have a good squad

Saw this tweet from a Baylor fan, was discussing Rick Barnes....hahaha
"@kkaut: @TheWholeMilk Should be pretty quick once Barnes is gone. Be real nice if Larry Brown would leave SMU, tired of losing guys."
