Possible starting 5 for next year

Postby SMU 86 » Wed Dec 04, 2013 8:34 am

Just looking at our recruiting and wanted to have some fun by giving a possibility.

G Mudiay
G Nic Moore
C Moreira
PF Turner
SF Bolden

Now that would get SMU a game in the freshman tip off classic (or whatever they called it) like the Duke Kansas game this year imo.

Its fun playing w line ups based on elite recruiting, but no way bolden starts at the 3 over Manuel/Frazier etc. lb is always gonna play the older guys first. I'd have a hard time seeing him start turner over Kennedy just based on age, it's just the way Larry rolls

I have a theory that the new foul rules are going to make it very important for college teams to have a deep rotation.

Thus, I think we could see more very good players used as a 6-7th man to prevent much dropoff as the fouls start to rack up. For example, I suspect (with no evidence whatsoever) that LB is bringing Kennedy off the bench for that reason.

Agreed. Also, gotta remember coach is from that dean smith blue team/white team mentality. In short, they would try and make the 2nd 5 as strong as the first and rotate the whole line up. Wore teams down.
