Just to see where we are I called the ticket office to see how sales are going and she said that SMU has doubled the season ticket sales from last year whatever that is. Said that they were still averaging about 100 per week. Sounds good.

And they were up something like 77% last year. That might be attendance but I am sure there was still a spike in sales. I bought mine last year knowing there would be run on em this year.

100 per week mid season. Not too shabby.

I'll believe a sold out Moody when I see it (been around long enough to temper my expectations about anything SMU sports related). I was there when we had our last NCAA run, though, and into the early 90s and Moody was definitely special when loud and sold out (game against Arky when ranked #1 and Fresno with Tark and Chris Herren come to mind especially -- TT as well when Bobby Knight was there and Jason Sasser and Bo Outlaw as well as Utah with Keith Van Horn). If we could routinely sell out and win, everyone will know who WE are.

That Bobby Knight game when our students were so far under his skin there was smoke coming out of his ears was priceless. One of my favorite Moody memories. He was pretty close to swinging on someone. Our students were complete brats, and he deserved every minute.

Watching Louie Kelcher rush the court to pull Coach Prewitt out of a dust-up with Nebraska was pretty epic.

The announced attendance for the McNeese State game was 3,250. There weren't a lot of walk-ins, and season ticket holders are counted in the official attendance, so we have to be pushing 3,000 season ticket holders. Toss in 750 students and mini-plan buyers and there is great cause for optimism.

In Garland, they must count 1,500-2,000 Culwell Center seats as season ticket holders

would have lived to have seen that.
I saw Nolan Richardson throw his jacket and get kicked out and the band and the students totally berated him on his way out. Classic.

The problem with season ticket sales numbers is that they've priced many/most seats low enough that you can just go to the top 4-5 games and scrap the rest and still come out ahead. I'm expecting a few games to be close to sold out and the rest to be around 2,500 - 3,000 +/-.
