Randall Joyner ‏@LetsGo_Bo5 15 Dec

Just heard the SMU Men's basketball mini plan ad on 104.5. Smart and good move by SMU! I'm glad they are reaching out to whole metroplex.

Good job LB and Rick. Never heard of them going to KKDA. As Randall said,"Smart move."

Fantastic. If you are a hoops fan SMU now has something to offer as an alternative to he Mavs. Glad they are reaching out. Visibility is half the battle.

KKDA 104.5 has mostly inner city listeners so to speak. I think what Randall is saying is that he is glad that they are reaching out to that segment of the city imo. It would kind of be hypocritical if they recruited kids from that segment of the city but never reached out to them. Again, I echo Randall's thoughts.

Are you ridiculing the comment?

I'm applauding it! We need to embrace ALL of Dallas. First K104, the listening audience for which is primarily African American. Add KSCS, the listening audience for which is primarily non-blue-blood (and therefore non-SMU) whites. Warning: It could mean spilling your bloody mary, though, as Bubba and his family makes their way past you to their seats.

Great move. BTW, not only does LB get it but Randall Joyner gets it too. I could see him being a successful coach. Dude's ready to roll

How's the overall vibe down in Dallas/FW outside of the SMU community? Is there visibility? Are the papers writing up stories for SMU? Is there general excitement? TIA

It is getting better. Still a lot of work to do.

Tell me more lol. What do you mean it's getting better? Like what has gotten better compared to years past I guess is what I'm asking?

Since the Mudiay signing people are starting to warm up to SMU. To some degree it really started with the Frazier signing. Many grassroots hoops people are giving us positive pub. Hoopmanx can explain better.

Until you win something, there can only be so many "feel good" stories written by the paper. Need to beat Wyoming and have a good showing to start conference play as an 0-3 start will take away a lot of the momentum when USF comes to Dallas. Hopefully the team won't be too rusty when they play Cincinnati on 1/1.
