We all know UConn is a perimeter team but I looked at the UH/UConn box score and it is even more so than I thought. Only 14 of their 71 points were scored by non-guards, and 6 of those points were 3s and 4 points at the line by forward DeAndre Daniels, who has a perimeter game. That means their bigs (forwards and centers) made 2 FGs inside the 3-point line. Also, UConn only got 7 points from their bench. Our depth should wear them down.
We are going to have to close on UConn's perimeter shooters, specifically Napier and Boatright. We played Kilpatrick well, so that's a good sign.

we did do a good job on Kilpatrick, but the lefty dude hurt us badly with those couple open threes. You know it wasn't our night though when Cincy threw bricks but banked in both a three and a free throw. Our inability to pass and catch is frustrating to watch. If Russell doesn't step up against Uconn i think you have to give more of his minutes to Frazier and Brown.

Yes, those couple of 3s from that lefty killed us....and it looked like he was shooting in slow motion.

Since both teams lost their season opener this game is critical for both teams. UConn will be ready to play and I hope we will be ready as well.

We are not on par with UConn . . . yet. The emotions/atmosphere should definitely be in our favor on 1/4, though, and so that game is a crap shoot given those circumstances. Otherwise, we are not ready to beat the top tier in our conference quite yet. I expect us to pull out about 5 or so wins in conference, though, plus Hofstra puts us at about 17 wins this year, which is what I expected. Is it enough to get us into the NIT? I don't know, but I hope so.

If Houston can do it why can't we?
