Just for fun post the starting 5 versus UConn that you guys think would be most effective against them.

Moore, Kennedy, Frazier, Yannick, Williams

(I'm not as down on Williams as many are on here - at least he hustles and is a pretty smart player). I would, then, roll in heavy doses of Cannen and Moore.

I'm like you, ojai. I'm not near as down on Williams as most. He probably shouldn't be starting but he is not a liability when on the court.

Since UConn is such a perimeter heavy team I'd start Nic, KF, either Ryan or Russell, Ben and Kennedy. If I started Russell he'd be on a short leash due to those b.s. lazy passes he made against Cincinnati. I like the idea of Yanick coming off the bench.

Moore, Ryan, and Brown gives us terrific length on the perimeter.

JasonB,
based on what we've seen, I don't see how you can justify starting Brown over KF.

Why though? I'm not really a fan of Brown per se, but KF can't do much else well other than shoot. Not a great defender, doesn't make good decisions, lazy passes, typical freshman stuff. Like I said, Brown isn't really the answer I would give either but I'd be pulling KF off the bench without a doubt from what I've seen, he's still young in his development. Interested to hear what your thinking

I'd rather have the D on the floor to start the game, help out with the lack of length on Moorre, and focus at the beginning of the game on running offensive sets in the half court and then have KF off the bench to spark the offense.

I completely disagree. When on the court, he was the most active, aggressive guy on the defensive end. He may play out of position at times but his athleticism and talent trump that.

I'd start:
NM, KF, MK, YM and BM.
Athletic, Aggressive D, and working in and out..can score.

Agree. I would like to see this one. Bring Williams of the bench to settle things down if needed, Ryan if D is needed and Russell if tempo change is needed.

I like this starting lineup but not for the UConn because we are going to need quick guys who can close on the 3s. From what I can tell, they have three guards on the floor at all times.

Fair enough. I still think he can be a liability. Although after watching Russell, it's hard to say he's any more of a liability that Nick...Good gawd

I agree, put some length On Napier. Make him work to get off his shot, not just launch over similar sized guys
