Heard Atwood a Power Forward could be a prospect for SMU?
Former Memphis HS star Willie Atwood (6-8, 217) is having a breakout sophomore season for Connors State JC.
Atwood – shooting 60 percent from the field and 80 percent from the free throw line this season for No. 25 Connors State (12-2)
He has had two monster games this season with a school-record 49-point effort in a loss to Independence Community College and 35 points in a win over Northern Oklahoma-Enid.
Atwood was 33-of-37 from the free throw line in that 49-point outing and got to the foul line 19 times in the other.

This is the kind of prospect I think we need the most in the 2014 class now. A long very athletic 6'8" SF type who can score. (slasher/shooter is ideal).

Hoopmanx retweeted
“@JucoRecruiting: Willie Atwood (6-8/F/2014) of Connors State finished with 29pts/11reb yesterday in a win. Had Wichita State, SMU and Kansas St in to see himâ€

Um, for the record, we haven't won anything yet, and Wichita St is #6 in the country and K St is #25 (yeah they got raped by KU today). I wouldn't be so arrogant

My wish list in order of preference:
2014
1. Turner
2. Atwood
3. Wood
2015
1. Thomas
2. Hogg
3. Stone
4. Evans
5. Davis
btw, only six of the Rivals top 150 in the 2014 class are uncommitted/unsigned. It's getting thin.

not arrogant - just reading the tea leaves. Take this team and add Mudiay and you have something special. THe other programs do not have that kind of trajectory. he will only have one chance to be a part of it. we beat K state pretty easy right now IMO.

It's not arrogant to say SMU > WSU. Don't let the #6 fool you.

Should I not let their final 4 appearance last year fool me either?

Check your history. For the past 70 years there is always a WSU-type that pops up for a couple of years. Bottom line is Wichita is one of the worst cities in America, the campus is in the Wichita ghetto, Moody > Koch, the school sucks beyond words, and Early is a senior. Their #6 (and potential top 4) ranking is based on playing garbage teams. The best team they play all year may not stay in top 40 RPI.
Point is, I don't think it's unrealistic for SMU to out recruit them.
