I saw Rick Hart tweet after the UConn in regards to having time, score, stats etc on the main videoboards. Anyone know if this will be operational for USF?

I don't think it will be ready today.

This kind of thing is normal for new/refurbished arenas.
In addition to minor fixes during the season, I would bet money that they have a list of "fixes" that will happen after the season is over.

I'm no IT man, but that seems very easy to fix and they should have the means/technology to have it done for tonight's game.

seems like a simple software / video issue but who knows. kind of weird to me it wouldn't be tied to a server

About the only reason I could see it not being ready is if the production personnel are still learning their way around the video production suite they're using to control the video board, ribbon boards, etc in Moody.
Adding the score, clock, etc at the top of the screen wouldn't require any physical addition to the video board. Instead, it would just be adding the bar as an overlay to whatever video is being shown on the board.

you'd be surprised how long some things, that should be so simple, take to fix take when it comes to tech, hardware and software..... It's outstandingly frustrating at times.

It was said that it was operating properly up until game day and then no more. Could be a broken henwhey.

This is correct. It worked morning of UCONN game and crapped out at gametime. I would put the chances that it works at about 75%.

I believe it was an issue with the flux capacitor

In my last job, I discovered that changing the font on one of our standard letters to customers was a six month process. Custom software meant waiting for our programmers to get to it.

IMO, the old scoreboard was a bit too big, but it had the playing players stats, the score, and had a pretty damn good video display. The new board sucks, from where I sit, I need to put on my glasses just to find the score of the damn game.
Upgrading is fine, but the old big [deleted] board was pretty awesome compared to this one. Can we dig it up and reinstall it?

This is a joke, right? The old board was a relic from 1997. The new one is awesome.
