Can someone explain how student tickets work? Do the same 700 who got them originally have them for the season, or do they draw again every few games?

What can they do about getting more students there for the bigger games (Louisville, cinn, Memphis)?

SMU BASKETBALL STUDENT TICKET PLAN

The Athletics Department is pleased to provide students with seating on three sides of the court in the new Moody Coliseum. Students have been allocated almost half of the capacity in the lower arena. In exchange for this premium placement, and in anticipation of increased demand, SMU students will now be required to pick up their complimentary game tickets in advance. This helps to ensure that the seats will be filled on gameday in support of our student-athletes and a national television audience.

DISTRIBUTION SCHEUDLE

PICK-UP DATES: GAME(S) AVAILABLE
Monday, December 9 UCONN (1/4), South Florida (1/15), Rutgers (1/21)
Monday, January 27 Memphis (2/1), Temple (2/6), Cincinnati (2/8)
Monday, February 10 Houston (2/19), UCF (3/1), UCONN – WBB (2/25)
Monday, February 17 Louisville (3/5) – pick-up priority based upon attendance

Pick-up windows open on these Mondays at 7 a.m. and remain open until 5 p.m. (unless all tickets have been distributed). If tickets remain after 5 p.m. on Monday, they will be available for pick-up during regular business hours (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) Tuesday & Wednesday until all tickets have been distributed.

• Students will be issued tickets with an assigned section (Sections 100, 108, 109, 110, 112, 114, 115, & 214A).
• Section 112 is reserved for “The Mob.” All other sections/tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis for group members.
• Tickets will be scanned upon entry and recorded. If a student is unable to use a ticket, they are encouraged to give to a fellow SMU student with a valid student ID or return to the ticket office prior to the game. Students who claim a ticket that goes unused will not be eligible to pick up in the next ticket block. 725 tickets will be distributed for each game. If all 725 students arrive, they will be able to fit within the designated bench-seating sections or directed to non-student areas.
• Unclaimed student tickets may be reallocated and sold by the athletics department to the public to maximize attendance in those sections.
• If a particular game is not sold out (student and/or public seating) prior to tip-off, students may purchase a ticket for 1/2 price at the Moody Coliseum box office on gameday.

GAMEDAY SEATING
• The student entrance, located at the southwest corner of Moody Coliseum between Moody and the Dedman Rec Center, will open 90 minutes prior to tip-off.
• Seating is general admission within the designated student sections.
• Student ID numbers/Archtics accounts will be tied to tickets. Student tickets will be scanned upon entry and recorded.

SID,

What can be done about the empty red seats t\right behind the ESPN game announcers?
Can we fill those with students until the ticket holders arrive if the ticket holders even arrive? It looks bad on television.
