Interesting it credits other schools good wins to include TAMU and includes TAMU on the list. It's nice that we have road/neutral site wins that don't get an honorable mention but are on others' brag sheets.

This really bugs me. Just another example of how effed up the local DFW media is regarding SMU. "Local teams"? When are ANY of these teams "local" except TCU, UNT, and UTA? We are, by far and very obviously, the 2nd best team in the entire state (and I think we beat Baylor at Moody). We should be headline news every game! I guess they are still waiting on something newsworthy like us beating Memphis or Louisville. When we make the tourney, we better be on the damn front page. This is really bugging me. It's absolutely absurd. Let the Austin paper cover UT, the Stillwater paper cover Okie St, the Lubbock paper (if they know how to read) cover Texas Tech. We BEAT aTm . . . on a neutral floor (and no mention of it!). We are IN Dallas and are relevant! Sick of this [deleted].

I get your local teams point, but . . . it's the way it is.

Today, non-SMU homers are going to put UT as the second best team in the state. They just beat the number 8 team in the country. That's a very notable win, and they have the same record we do. Having watched both teams, I do think SMU has the edge, but, right now, UT has the skins.

I missed that win against ISU. Yeah, that's a good win no doubt.

all 11 teams were ordered exactly in accordance with RPI

UConn win was a very good win for us. I agree with the order of teams as well at this point.

Big 12 play will be bloody. A lot of losses will be shared by that group.

I get that it was listed in RPI order. I just don't like the reference to local teams.

If it makes you feel any better, the Memphis paper considers Tenn a "local team," even though Knoxville is about the same distance from Memphis as Dallas. I think it's all about the number of local alums and fans, as in who "locally" is interested in buying the paper for the coverage.

it should have said regional, their mistake. Oklahoma is not close to being local..

That and the fact that Belo was founded, and run by, a family that has extremely close ties to UT and have never failed to register their preference for wearing burnt orange. It doesn't bother them to pick apart SMU's NCAA compliance issues but never a word about UT's.

It will take some time but I think we are on our way.
