If given the choice which option would you choose for SMU this year?

What if we got to the NIT but did not win it? Not enough choices on this poll imo.

There are only two choices. Would rather win the NIT or lose it the first round of the NCAA? Pretty simple poll.

NCAA tournament does 3X what an NIT championship does for recruiting. No-brainer. At least if you get to the Big Dance, you got a shot and you can show kids that this is a place you can come to compete for a natty. Nobody cares about the NIT except for the teams in it...

I said that there were not enough choices in my opinion, not how many choices there were on the poll. Again, just my opinion.

I'd choose NCAA with those two outcomes. No recruit is going to be stoked that the team won an NIT Championship. I couldn't even tell you who the NIT last year. But a recruit would definitely be excited that the team got to the Big Dance for the first time in 20 years. Shows progress even with a first-round loss.

Baylor actually won the NIT last year but you're right, no one ever remembers who won the NIT. It's the Beef O'Brady's Bowl or Heart of Dallas Bowl of basketball. The only people who care are the teams in it.

the only thing that keeps the NIT somewhat relevant is the trip to the Garden at the end.

NIT choice would mean we (and recruits) get to see more SMU basketball games.
