SMU & the NCAA use the info that's provided. If it wasn't SMU, it would be another school at this time in the cross-hairs. But then again, would it really be another or is this merely a vendetta against SMU? Hmm? Makes you wonder???
Sounds like a DISD problem.

I still have fears this is going to affect Frazier's eligibility. A coach was fired for changing his grade and other Kimball employees were reprimanded. This audit was not about other students, it was about Frazier alone. DISD said a more broad investigation may be needed to see if other students benefited.
Someone was fired for changing a grade and the Principal said on the record that it was "highly probable Frazier should not have graduated". Another official went on record in the audit as saying his absences should have kept him from graduating.
SMU is not on the hook for this, we did not know. But now we have a report that says there are questions and some wrongdoing and at least one person was fired for it. All having to do with Frazier.
I think it does not look very good for Frazier and his eligibility.

I don't see how you can be so certain Frazier's in trouble. It's pretty remarkable that the new online story says DISD claims Frazier did what was necessary to graduate, despite the principal's quote in the report. We all know the NCAA can be unpredictable, but I have a hard time believing they would take away Frazier's eligibility without something more substantive than this.

Disagree. The audit was about way more than Keith - no idea how you say otherwise.
Whether they should have or not, Keith graduated, and they aren't taking his diploma back. Not our issue, and he should be clear to go.
Have a backbone. This is not your fathers SMU basketball. We play with the big boys or not. There is nothing in between.

You are wrong. Senior administrators met with Keith today and told him that they support him fully and that he is not to worry for a minute. Concentrate on your studies and b-ball was the message of the day.

Shadowman, two peoples opinion about what should or should not have happened are irrelevant. At the end of the day DISD decided to certify KF graduation. Thus, as a fact KF qualified for graduation and graduated. Additionally the report was about way more students then KF it was about long running problems at kimball. In case you are unaware school administrators are evaluated and receive funding and advancement based on how well the school performs thus many failing schools are desperate to graduate students and avoid failing kids at all costs. Smu and the NCAA review KF's school recorded and rendered a decision that he met smu and NCAA requirements to be eligible to play. Question asked and answered, accept the good news.
