Realistic Scenario 22 wins

Anything better than 22 and I will be very happy with where this team is this year.
I had thought that they would sweep USF and split with HOU. Now we need to sweep HOU.
As long as they are able to get Ws @Rut, Temple, Hou, UCF and in 1st round of AAC tourney, they should be at 21 Ws. If they can pull off a sweep of Temple, 22. 10-8 in conference.
Then any Ws vs @UCONN, CIN, Memphis, @Memphis, Lou are icing on the cake and any one of those would be enough to stamp ticket for NCAAs. Lose to any more of the tier 2 teams and beating one of the tier 1s is essential.
Not at all penciling in Ls, but just trying to take a realistic look at how things might play out.

very realistic. We just found out how hard it can be to sweep a team. Any games won on the road are a huge bonus as long as we protect Moody

This ^. They have a couple of talented freshmen as their class was ranked #21 in the nation. Also, they were missing their starting PG due to injury. They will lose Rudd though who gave us fits last night.

Provided everybody makes grades and is eligible next year, with Mudiay and whoever else LB adds, hard to believe we won't be improved next year as well.

You can say that about every team. No doubt we will still have more talent than USF next year, just like this year. We should not lose to them but I believe they have more talent than they've shown in conference play so far.

I said a couple weeks ago that we'd probably get to 22 by dropping a road game we were supposed to win (I thought Houston) and stealing another one. I think realistically, we need to steal two of those game with one being on the road to have a realistic tourney shot.
Conference tourney wise, we need to be one of the last 4 standing

Fact.
I think our performance in the conference tournament will be the deciding factor on our NCAA tournament hopes.

The next game!!! Beat Memphis for a 17-5 record, and move along to the next game after that

I think the loss to USF pretty much REQUIRES an upset win against Cincy, Mem, or UL while beating the rest to get into the Tourney.
So as LHS says, beat Memphis and we are back on track. Play like we did last night and we ain't beating anybody else and it was a fun ride while it lasted this year which is sort of where I thought we'd end up (about 18-20 wins and NIT).

I believe if we win all the rest of our games against the lower teams and
win 2 of 5 remaining vs Memphis(twice), Cincy, Louisville and UConn, then we are bubble team.
Win 3 of those five and we are in the NCAA tourney. 3 are at home and we already handled UCONN and were in it on the road vs Lou and Cincy.
Win 2 of 5, then follow up with another big win in AAC will get us in too.
any more bad losses, and we have to get an extra win vs big 4.
at least that's the way I see it.
… and BTW, 22 wins at this point will be a Big Disappointment, IMO.

I wouldn't be disappointed with 22 wins. . . I had SMU pegged for a 20-11/21-10 type of season. . . 11-2 in OOC (which SMU finished 11-2). And a 9-9, or 10-8 type of record in the AAC. . . For me, SMU is still on pace.

yeah, I hear your point, but I believe the bar has been raised since pre season.
Hey, if we are NIT, we can still get some good wins vs the likes of possibly Ark,Baylor, LSU, etc..
either way, the trajectory is way up!
