Not much RPI love

We don't get the bounce one might hope for after beating Memphis. Moved for 51st to 46th. That USF game hurt.

I think 5 is a pretty good sized move this late in the season.

This late in the seaon to move up 5 is a lot bigger than you think...its very difficult to move much now during the heat of Conference play leading into the Conference playoffs. USF will move up before the end of AAC play...they have good talent and will maybe even help our RPI before its through.

Keep him worried about the RPI. It distracts him from talking about that other subject.

Virginia win would be great for our RPI, How abt Cin Vs USF? I assume USF on the road is better for us, is it?!

Seth Davis and Doug Gottlieb on the CBSSN halftime show just discussed SMU's chance of making the tourney. They both agreed that we need to win a couple of more wins on the road (Rutgers and Temple), if we do that we should get in. They said we have avoided a bad loss (guess they don't count USF as a bad loss?)

From a pure rpi perspective we do not care who wins conference games. since we play both teams the same number of times it evens out. Separate from rpi, probably better for cincy to win so we have a chance to get a more impressive victory. That said, if you think we have a chance to pass cincy in the conference standings then we would prefer they lose.

That is not technically true that it evens out as some teams have more schedule commonality with us than others do. However, the difference is so minute that for practical purposes it doesn't matter. And in the case of Cincy-USF, they will both have the same weight on our RPI.

I am aware, did not feel like getting into the decimals, especially since as you point out it does not matter at all in this case.
