PROVIDENCE, R.I. (SMU) - Keena Mays earned her fourth American Athletic Conference Player of the Week award after scoring 54 points in two games, leading SMU to home wins over Cincinnati and Temple, conference officials announced Monday.

The senior guard scored 30 points against Temple Saturday, becoming just the third player in the league to reach 30 in a conference game, following up a 24-point performance against Cincinnati. Mays has scored at least 20 points 11 times this season, and posted at least 30 three times, including a career-high 34 at UTEP on Dec. 7.

Mays shot 62.1 percent, going 18-for-29 from the field, including 7-for-11 from behind the arc, 63.6 percent. She also had 13 assists, nine steals, six rebounds and a block. For the season, the Arlington, Texas, native leads The American with 20.1 points per game, and her 19.2 scoring average in conference games is third among league players. She also ranks sixth with 4.1 assists per game, third with 2.2 steals per game, and third in 3-point percentage, shooting 37.5 from behind the arc.

SMU is 14-7 overall and 5-5 in The American after winning its last three games. The Mustangs play at No. 1 Connecticut Tuesday at 6 p.m. CT. The game can be seen live on ESPN3 or on the ESPN Game Plan cable package.
