"Fire Marshall" capacity

Anyone know what the actual capacity is for Moody? I really wish we could jam more students in down in their floor sections. Even coach Brown said, They don't sit anyway.

I don't think we should turn any students away. Or make them buy at half price. Stuff them in until they can't be stuffed anymore, then move to standing room only.

There's a sign next to the will call office. I believe it says 7,500

In 1991(ish), I attended a Notre Dame football game. Because my sister was a student, I "sat" in the student section. My "seat" was approximately the size of an iPad mini. Basically, we ended up standing the entire game and entire rows ended spooning the person to the right (No - I did not spoon my sister. She had a cute roomate).

Would love to see the student section "maximized."

Question- does announced attendance include everyone, players, coaches, media, security guards, etc., or just those who buy tickets? Obviously the fire marshall number would include everyone.

We should definitely pack some more people into the standing area if possible.

That 7,500 might be max cap with people seated on the Moody floor.

In the final walkthrough video about moody, Buning mentions what the seated capacity and actual full, with standing and suites capacity is. I'm at work so I can't watch it right now, so someone should go take a gander and get your answer

I can't speak for SMU but at most places announced attendance is season tickets sold plus all single game tickets sold plus all walkups and students.

In other words, announced attendance rarely actually matches actual attendance.

Here's a wonderful example of this from college baseball:

The recorded/announced attendance at LSU's home game against SFA on 3/5/2013 was 9,920. Actual attendance (LSU, in their defense, shows both on the box score) was 3,282.
