They took the AAC over the Big East. They do have the AAC TV rights though.

Good talk. Rising tourney team. Best player in the country next year. Lots of good stuff.

That was awesome pub! Everyone agreed AAC because of the upward trend of SMU.

AAC is a better conference. We (SMU) need to continue our rise to offset the loss of Louisville next year.

The Memphis runaway has become an SMU infomercial.

No doubt the American is better than the Big East. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Big East is really a 3 team conference. It also hurts when a program builder coach leaves Butler for the Celts causing that program to start falling back to the bottom.

That's not fair to butler. Obviously Stevens did a lot for that program but butler had a history of tournament appearances and runs before Stevens got there. Butler used to be my old stand by way to win my bracket as they always used to win one more tournament game than they we're suppose to.

The AAC is solid this year. Looking ahead, with Louisville leaving we really need another hoops program to step up next year. Rutgers is a big zero, but losing Louisville obviously hurts. Any chance that UH steps up? I thought that program was on the way up for awhile, but they seem to be struggling. And what is the deal with Temple? I'm scratching my head that they would get a second bite at the Big East/AAC apple and still not perform.

Temple will get better. The perception problem will be not only are we losing a top 10 team in Louisville but we are adding Tulsa, East Carolina, and Tulane which could water down the league. And don't get me wrong, one good SMU season and what we HOPE to sustain long term doesn't make us a true blue blood. Just pointing out a hurdle the league will have perception wise.

Hopefully Tulsa can get things turned around. They have history but are only 10-11 this year playing in a watered down C-USA. Someone brought this up a while back that the the AAC should explore adding Wichita St as a bball school only. I think that would be a great idea. The AAC has to remain aggressive and this would add another quality team to the league.
