Like everyone, I am really impressed with the crowd and the level of enthusiasm.

I have two requests that WE as a potential winning program, should not be chanting and we did them both at the Memphis game.

1. OVER-RATED - When you are a winning program, you should expect to win. This chant is for a sub-par home team, that beats a really good team they did not expect to beat. SMU, is not that team.

2. Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye - Please stop this stupid chant, especially with 10 minutes to go with a 17 point lead. Maybe this video will help convince you, it is NOT cool.

could not agree more on both counts. The na na hey hey chant is for losers.

both of these chants were started by students so not sure how to educate them.

I didn't have a problem with either one. When we whip Cincy on Saturday night I hope we serenade them with "OVERRATED" chants in the closing minutes. Also like the Na Na Na chant with 10min to go and a 17 pt lead. It's arrogant as [deleted] and I like that.

What happens when they come back and win?

Na, Na, Na, Na is very late 1970's, I remember Chi White Sox fans singing it a lot to the Texas Rangers.

I think "bad" is a relative term when you consider that other "schools" pretty much encourage crap like this at their stadiums and arenas:

As an SMU alum, I would lose a lot of respect for our students and school if something like that ever started at SMU.

You can have a loud and intimidating environment without having to be vulgar... well, unless you're LSU... unfortunately, natural selection just hasn't been kind to the average resident of cajun country so they create their loud and intimidating environment by encouraging profanity, vulgarity, and generally moronic behavior.

LSU makes Ole Miss look like Harvard. It is a lowest common denominator school.

Chant whatever you want. I've read too many years of posts of people whining that people don't come to games. If you come, chant whatever you want. Hell, now I want you to chant this just to [deleted] people off.
