SMU has professional basketball players, professional football players, mayor of Dallas, and professional baseball managers coming to the games. Kind of the college version of the Lakers audience. Really cool to see on television. A very good recruiting tool.

It hadn't really occurred to me till tonight, but it seems pretty obvious we are also benefitting from the Dallas Mavericks recently returning to just "average". The Mavs games don't have as much cache as they used to, and we are benefitting. Not that we don't put a great product on the floor without the help...

Really cool to have these people at the games!
No problem showing them on the video screen, but kind of forced to announce them, don't you think? If they are worth showing - we know who they are...

Back in early 2000's, when soccer was top 10, I saw Dirk and Steve Nash at least twice at our games.

Last time I was in Dallas I spent a couple hours at Buck's house in Preston Hollow. Really nice guy until he figured out I grew up an Ole Miss fan... then the trash talk started (he played baseball at Mississippi State).
Still, a super nice guy and a very nice family.
