Think it would be fun to take a look at some of the other message boards around the country (mostly our previous opponents) to see what they're saying following the big win over Cincy..

Hogs (for 3 seasons) are in desperate need of a real PG, Larry Brown has gotten 2 five star PG's out of TX in 2 seasons.

Looks like Larry Brown will have the SMU program back to better health and to national relevance sooner than the Hogs. Sad, but true.

This team plays great defense, rebounds well, and is very good at half-court offense. They could make noise in March.

The crowd was rocking as well...reminded me of coach G's years

Louisville...

SMU 76 Cincy 55

I'm sure they'll be chomping at the bit to beat yet another ranked team at their home when UofL visits.

Anyone surprised by the lightening speed at which they have become relevant while we have fallen off the face of the college basketball earth?

Legit court storming at SMU. Moody magic. Larry Brown delivering. Age just a number. Means nada when you can still be highly productive.

My brother, a Vandy alum, posted this on the Vandy forum.

Doxito:
"Couple years ago no one knew SMU even had a basketball team. But Larry Brown was able to turn that program around the second he was hired. The atmosphere in SMU's arena right now looks something akin to Cameron Indoor when Duke is playing the Tar Heels. Amazing how quickly you can transform a program by hiring a big-time coach and bringing in 4- and even 5-star recruits.

I don't mean for this to turn into a Stallings debate, and I hope it doesn't devolve to that. I'm just acknowledging and complimenting the SMU program for their meteoric rise as a basketball program under Brown."

Pretty amazing to see those quotes. It's nice to finally have a good team. Being born in 1987 I really haven't seen very many good SMU teams. Football and basketball.

SoCal_Pony quote, March 2012, prior to the hiring of LB:

"SMU has finally made a commitment to be good again in revenue sports. There is 25+ years of pent up demand here with a very affluent alumni base just waiting to be relevant again. Under-estimate us at your own peril, if we decide to, we can be quite good again, as in scary good. It all depends on our commitment and apparently it is finally there."
