I unfortunately cannot make it to any games, but I've heard many things, such as very loud noise, floors shaking, is that really how it feels? Would love to hear folks impressions about the environment about what makes this venue and games (particularly Uconn and cincy) so special.

UCONN- loud, but not the whole game. Students were on break. Still a great atmosphere.
Memphis- first real "big time college atmosphere". Students were just beginning to buy in. Fresh off a loss to USF so people were kind of worried at first.
Cincy- A whole new level. I can't even explain it. Building was literally shaking. Even loud during timeouts with constant chants. Literally the best atmosphere I've ever been in. Second would be the Rangers clinching the penant

I'll try to upload a couple videos.
It's just plain noisy. The Mob and Band and other student sections stand the whole game. The DJ picks great timeout songs that keep the energy going. The lighting keeps everything focused on the court.

Rhyner today said that it was the most fun he has had at any sporting event in Dallas since the NBA finals. Seriously.

I couldn't hear any of the whistles when we would get an AND 1. I was basically guessing if there was a foul call by watching player's reactions. That's the best way I can explain the crowd

Remember what it was like at Moody during the Tubbs/Doh days? It's the exact opposite of that

thanks guys. I've watched the games on ESPN and a few on CBS (not nearly as good), but they just don't seem to do justice, and drown out a lot of the noise (understandable to hear the announcers). Wish they would almost just give a 5-10 second cue of how it really sounds.

Go back to the Cincy game and watch from the 9 min mark to about 7:30 left in the game. After Moore's 3 and Russell's jam, the announcers do a good job of not saying anything. A T.O. is called and 7 nation army begins blaring. The announcers say something like "wow, something special is going on here in Dallas"

I remember I came back for a UTEP game over xmas break, and I was the ONLY student in the student section. My friends were texting me saying they could hear EVERYTHING I was saying. so sad

I've been to sporting events all over the SEC, and the Cincy game ranks near the top of the list! Our students were off the chart great! Moody is a snake pit for the opposition.

In another thread there are some that didn't even realize that the bands drum line played a few times. It is very loud. Students jumping up and down. Craziness.

It's fun. Exciting. And I hate when they get within 7pts...

I suggest getting on Instagram...not sure how familiar you are, but a bunch of good clips we're posted of the Cincy game including the eruption after KEEEEEITH hit his 3 before half and a seven nation army chant. Doesn't quite do it justice but definitely better than what CBS was showing.

I just did that. I literally teared up.
