Also, Kudos to Band for Outfits

Postby AustinPerson » Wed Feb 12, 2014 9:16 am

Kudos to the band yesterday for the drum line - very cool. And kudos to the band for wearing their nice uniforms and not cheeseball polo shirts. There's nothing worse on an individual than a polo shirt. Cheap salesmen wear polo shirts with a logo, belts with a metal tip, slacks, and generally have groomed facial hair.

I encourage all of you all, and the Mustang band, to go home later today and throw away all of your polo shirts. They're lame. Thanks to our band for being "cool."

I'm confused by this. Maybe alcohol induced?

Our basketball band used to be like other basketball bands and wear the stupid polo shirts. They looked like cheap salesmen. I like their football uniforms and glad they're wearing them at bball games now.

What if actually playing tennis, that for which the polo shirt was designed?

I endorse these kudos though. If you have a gimmick, embrace it. Always thought the polo shirt was lazy.

It does drive me crazy however that they always wear black shoes. Khaki pants amd blue pants scream for brown.

Dear Austinperson: here in Florida we basically golf and play tennis so not only is the polo shirt the norm, it engulfs our closets. If I can make it to away games at UCF or USF, what do you suggest for attire? Keep in mind I may invite the Seinfelds from Boca Del Vista, so make it classy!

Polo + Jeans = student washes.

Fancy stuff = dry cleaning paid by the budget.

More economical to wear the polo and jeans. If you like the good stuff, I suggest contribute to the band budget so they can dry clean more often

Bah, same excuse as back then. Inside Moody where you aren't sweating profusely you can probably go all semester without anything but an occasional pressing. Especially since now the 'functional alcoholism' rate seems to have gone way down and nobody is spilling flasks on themselves mid game.

Don't people in Florida typically just wear jean shorts and no shirt?

Bah. If you spill your flask, shame on you  I came up with the cost thing on my own so I didn't copy anyone. Now that the place is rocking maybe the school will pitch in more to the laundry budget because it will be worth it for the presentation.
