The AAC is a much better conference than people realize. I'd put our current 1-10 against any other conference. Honestly.
Are you referring to Michigan who was starting a couple freshman and 3 sophomores at the beginning of the year in the loss to Charlotte? Not to mention missing their All-American for the year and best player?
The numbers don't lie, Temple is 7-17. They didn't do well OOC, nor are they doing well in conference. USF is 12-14. I feel like Brad Pitt in Moneyball, if he's a good hitter, why doesn't he hit good? If Temple and USF are talented, why don't they win, especially in the OOC? You would not want to put either of those teams up against 9-10 in the B12 or B10. They'd get beat 8/10 times. It's simply a young SMU team that doesn't know how to win on the road yet, trying to sugar coat bad losses doesn't do the team any good. The rest of the country looked at that score and went wtf? My dad even texted me asking how SMU choked that one again after USF, he doesn't care about SMU, but that just goes to show that they are eye-brow raisers. There's no such thing as a good loss in college basketball, you either win or lose. There are such things as a bad loss in college basketball though.
B12 and B10 are both extremely overrated. Michigan sucks. And, oh yeah, so does THE Ohio State. Midwest is all garbage and who the eff would want to live anywhere near there anyway. Overrated, large public institutions sucking at the teet of the tax payer and claim to be "institutions of higher learning". No one outside of Michigan or Ohio give a crap about either school.
There. I said it.
And I appreciate your contributions to our board. SMU is an extremely special school and place. Very, very few small private schools with strong reputations in academic excellence also excel in D1 revenue sports. If I had Michigan and Ohio State (and all the other garbage B10 midwest schools' resources, I could put a competitive product out on the court/field, too . . . not that difficult . . .).
Lol, fair enough. Apparently people do give a crap about Ohio State outside of Ohio though, it is the biggest fan base in college football, so you may want to rethink that one. Anyways, there's no way on god's green Earth that scUM would lose to Temple. It's just that simple. Overrated or not, you don't lose that game just as nobody else in the AAC really has. I'm not attacking SMU, I'm just telling you like it is. Guess we'll find out in the tourney who is overrated, I remember that argument last year about the B10 in basketball though too, then they put 4 teams in the Sweet 16, 2 in the Elite 8 and one in the national championship. I don't think the B10 is any good, I don't know how you're turning this into a B10 or B12 argument when the whole point is that Temple blows donkey D and somehow SMU took another hard one.
And for the record, I've lived in Texas, there is nothing outside of a few cities lol. There's 3/4 of the state that has a gas station every 300 miles, so easy with throwing stones. And Austin is about the only city I'd go back to visit.
