ESPN - Why the Longhorns need Myles TurnerEff Jeff Goodman...
http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/jeff-goodman/post?id=3184 "...Landing Myles Turner would send a strong message regarding Rick Barnes' recruiting power. No team has shocked the country quite as much as Rick Barnes and the Texas Longhorns. Sure, no one expected Wichita State to be undefeated at this point, but the Shockers returned the core of a team that went to the Final Four a year ago. Villanova’s success has been surprising, but Jay Wright also returned the majority from a team that went dancing last season. Texas appeared likely to be headed for an NIT berth -- or even a return trip to the CBI this season. The Longhorns were decimated in the offseason, losing their top four scorers from a team that couldn’t even make the NIT. Instead, life is good in Austin, Texas, for 59-year-old Barnes. No one is missing Myck Kabongo, who declared for the NBA draft and is playing in the D-League. No one is talking about how Sheldon McClellan (Miami) and Julien Lewis (Fresno State) transferred elsewhere -- or how Ioannis Papapetrou decided to leave abruptly and play pro ball back in his homeland of Greece. Texas is 20-6 and sits in second place in the Big 12 behind perennial league power Kansas. The Longhorns are a team this season, with chemistry, physical toughness and mental resolve. But a ceiling remains on this team, one that still lacks a true superstar...."
Re: ESPN - Why the Longhorns need Myles TurnerSMU would have 2 superstars....
who wants to be Carmelo when you can be LeBron/Wade...and get rings!
Re: ESPN - Why the Longhorns need Myles TurnerSomeone needs to show Myles this link and tell him to check the box scores for attendance: http://texassports.com/schedule.aspx?path=mbball
Does he really want to play in a 1/2 full arena every night? 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: ESPN - Why the Longhorns need Myles TurnerThis is where he'll end up. He thinks he's the next Kevin Durant - he idolizes him. Probably was always Texas (I hope they get creamed by Kansas and completely melt down here at the end - would like to play them in the tourney).
Re: ESPN - Why the Longhorns need Myles Turnershocking that espn would want him to play for ut.
Re: ESPN - Why the Longhorns need Myles Turner
Where he goes may have nothing to do with attendance. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: ESPN - Why the Longhorns need Myles TurnerI wouldn't be surprised at all. It's actually a good fit in my opinion. Barnes has had several 1 and dones at this position
Re: ESPN - Why the Longhorns need Myles Turner
I will be very surprised if he DOESN'T sign with Texas. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

Re: ESPN - Why the Longhorns need Myles Turner
I agree. I think he's Texas' to lose.
Re: ESPN - Why the Longhorns need Myles Turner
I'll "second" that motion. He needs to talk to ED.
