I for one, was disappointed in the coverage today. Small wire write up on the back page. OK, let's bring in the appologist and start bashing me. 8)

Do you think it's JJ's fault? Or do we just automatically blame him?

DMN has been pretty good on SMU basketball coverage this year really, but yes today's article is marginal.

In defense of the DMN, we are now a national story and a national program. I think they just decided it is best to leave ESPN, USA Today, etc. to cover us as they cannot compete with news groups that have national resources. :D

Gotta be sarcasm. That was a huge win. Better be a full, front page story tomorrow when we come in at #20. :D

DMN loves us right now. Reason is staff economics - they'll put their staff writers on the front and bury wire stories in the back. Every home game we're usually on the front the day of or after, depending who we play, because Nichols will have written something.

Yeah no reason to be bitter about the DMN coverage this year. There have been several big articles about the program, Moody, and Larry Brown.

I think using the AP story for a road game up at UCONN is acceptable. The DMN did, however, edit and shrink the story. They could have ran the full story, two or three paragraph's worth of content was removed. The picture could have been bigger also.

On the plus side, a color picture with teaser was the first item in the side bar on the front page. In fact, it is the only picture in the side bar. The picture on the story page was also in color.

I will give the DMN a pass on this because of the color photos and sidebar presentation.

I'm sure that was sarcasm but I'll take it. Had to overcome what can only be described as paralyzing fear before I actually hit submit.
