During his news conference this afternoon, Memphis Coach Josh Pastner went into some detail on the AAC's strength as a conference. As an example, he said that SMU would be next year's pre-season favorite to win the conference and that Temple would be predicted to finish second.
He didn't cite a reason for the SMU prediction, at least not in the clip I heard on the radio. He did say that Temple has some strong transfers who had to sit out this year.

Probably trying to pump his kids up for when we come to their place after the butt raping we gave them in Moody.
There's definitely some truth to it though
As a side note, I think we'll miss Nick Russell next year more than we think.

That means you are saying that we will not be as good next year as we are this year.

Somebody else said that on the board bot to long ago. Does anyone know who the transfers are?

Nick has been a key piece this year. Great on the defensive end, and is a viable option on the offensive end. Has had a few big games for us, such as yesterday.

I'm also picking us as the pre-season favorites.

That may be true at the beginning of the year... we'll be very talented but I could see a slip up or two without Nick's (or even Shawn's) steadying effect. I think later in the year it'll be less noticeable because the whole team will be more experienced, both in general and playing together.

Hopefully Sterling improves enough defensively to take over the defensive responsibilities that Nick has right now. Losing Russell and Manuel will hurt in that sense.

Ryan Manuel is a junior. Only way SMU loses Ryan is by transfer

Rebel, wasn't saying that at all. Basically what section F said are my thoughts.

That's because he's one of the only guys on our roster who didn't use some of their eligibility elsewhere before coming to SMU. The only other one being Cannen. (Ignoring the freshmen and Dunleavy.)

With the fall abortion at Ford called tiki-ball I am really looking forward to the start of next years bball season. It is likely going to seem like a long wait.
