Crunch time 5?This is the product of a fuzzy memory and not getting to watch every game:
Who is our crunch time 5 right now? Nic Moore Nick Russell Markus Kennedy Who else? Seems like Ben Moore has gotten more late minutes in recent games but don't know if he is in our crunch time lineup at this point. Curious of others' thoughts. Re: Crunch time 5?I'd say it depends on who we're playing and who is playing well in that game, but you're right, Nic, Nick and Markus are out there.
SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

Re: Crunch time 5?Williams sat a lot at UConn. Did he have foul issues or did Brown just use some others?
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Crunch time 5?I think Ben Moore has been in the game a lot at the end over the past several games.
Re: Crunch time 5?
He really has and he's been, more or less, $$$ BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: Crunch time 5?In my opinion, our best five are:
Nic Moore Nick Russell Sterling Brown Ben Moore Markus Kennedy That said, it really depends on the "crunch time" situation, because we have others that may be more effective in a given circumstance. Shawn, Ryan, and Cannen have all given us a needed lift at times and Keith and Crandall bring scoring potential. I left Yanick out, but if he's healthy he could potentially be in the top five. I love this team.
Re: Crunch time 5?
I agree. Your post made me think of something... one of my favorite developments this year has been Cannen really using his 10-15 ft jumper. He has never had a bad stroke, but I really like his mid-range jumper and would love to see us exploit that more in high-low or pick and pop situations. Maybe the offense isn't built that way (I don't know, I am offense-ignorant in basketball), but it would be a nice wrinkle.
Re: Crunch time 5?
I agree with one minor caveat, Crandall is not in the there to score, he's in there to play defense, and really so has sterling most of the year. And when MK has been in early foul trouble, Cannen has be HUGE. Wish we could find more minutes for the guy BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: Crunch time 5?I love this team too.
Russell, Moore and Markus seem to be automatic. Brown and Wiiliams seem to be almost automatic. Frazier seems to be going deeper into games and Ben Moore seems to be there when he's having a good game. Cunningham and Ryan are pretty much good for 10-12 minutes a night of solid play. The reason this team is so much fun is that everyone contributes and damn near anyone can make the difference on a given night. I just wish we shot free throws better as a team. Did I mention I love this team? Last edited by sadderbudweiser on Tue Feb 25, 2014 5:54 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: Crunch time 5?
Yeah, I think Crandall has mostly contributed defensively, but I think there are often better defensive options. (He did play very well for a while against Kilpatrick in the Cincinnati game.) I think he has scoring potential for sure though, albeit mostly unrealized. He's a hard guy to find minutes for on this team. And Cannen is my freaking hero. This guy has obviously worked his [deleted] off. Most improved for sure and not in the "worst player in little league needs an award" way. He has seriously stepped up on a team far more talented than the one he originally joined.
Re: Crunch time 5?
With SMU up by 25+ and less than 60 seconds to buzzer, completely agree.

Bring back the lineup of 4 white guys and Cameron Spencer! ![]()
