The SMU men’s basketball game at Memphis on March 8 at 11 a.m. CT will now air on ESPN2.
The nationally-ranked Mustangs have three regular season games remaining, including home games on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT against UCF (ESPNews) and on March 5 against Louisville at 6 p.m. CT (CBS Sports Network). SMU’s final two home games are sold out.

I thought it was always slated for either ESPN/ESPN2?

That's what I thought too. Must have given it the down vote

Did it flex from ESPN to ESPN2. PP wasn'y clear on what it flexed from.

Yeah, I believe I saw that on the programs at one point... probably the reason for the early start time.

Kansas versus West Virginia will be on ESPN. I guess that makes sense viewership wise.

Yes, this is not an accomplishment as it was always slated to be ESPN or ESPN2. I would think a neutral observer would rather see SMU v Memphis, but I guess the national following for KU trumps a good game. ESPN2 is still solid though.

West Virginia has a good chance of getting in to the tourny. So that game should be important for them as well.

The Louisville game needs to be on mainstream cable and should be. That's gonna be a huge match-up, what the heck does ESPN have lined up that's better than that match-up? It's better than SMU/Memphis anyways for viewers too

The Louisville game is on CBS Sports Network, so ESPN doesn't have the rights (I assume)

Yeah. I think if that one were on an ESPN network it would probably get upped to ESPN2, but there's nowhere (to my knowledge) to go from CBS Sports. (Especially on a weeknight.)

I wonder how that works? Like if CBSSN has the rights to weekday games. I'd even like the game to be shown on ESPN News, a lot of the country doesn't get CBSSN without adding it extra if you're not in the AAC viewing market, sort of like the Big Ten Network or PAC12 network. I had to add it. Or put the damn thing on CBS, screw it...big time weekday match-up, gotta be better than Survivor or whatever CBS has going on Wednesday nights
