I am embarassed

I apologize for this but our basketball team has so far surpassed my preseason expectations that anything positive from this point on is icing on the cake. Now please understand that I want to win every game. I want to be undefeated at home, win the conference tourney, get a good seed in the NCAA, and go to the final four and win the National Championship. However, if we do not win another game from here on out, I will still relish this season as one of the best I have witnessed in my lifetime and will thank Larry Brown for winning before I die.

Next year much more will be expected. This year, NIT was a dream at the beginning and now we have an outside chance at a conference championship and we are set to be in the NCAA. Any loss from this point forward will be a sad feeling but with no frustration or regret since we are already beyond where I could have imagined us being.

I am not used to expecting anything but a win at any time regardless of the opponent. But I do not have that feeling this year with this team. I have nothing but satisfaction with what they have achieved to this point in time and if nothing more positive is seen, I will remain happy with this season of play.

Thank you Larry Brown. Win them all, but if you do not, thank you for where you have taken us this year wherever that may end up.

I kind of feel the same way. I felt 17 wins and an NIT offer would be a successful season. Ever since the first UConn win, I've been giddy. Everything else is gravy as far as I'm concerned. I think the team has a chance to really make a run here, though, and I'll be excited to watch all of it win or lose.

Beat Louisville!!

I mean, I don't care which seed they get, they're going in my elite eight.

Gonna be weird to do a bracket and see SMU in there. It is hard to believe this is happening.

Do not feel bad. My wife and I were talking about the same thing. We never miss a basketball or football game and we feel the same way.

I have already decided I will do 2 brackets. One as a fan and one being realistic. The problem is I still do not have a good feeling on what the realistic expectations of this team are.

It is pretty surreal. I certainly didn't expect this and thankful for such a cool season. It was always depressing never seeing us in there. I will be at selection sunday party for sure.

It's going to be great to go into the 2014-2015 season with high expectations. When was the last time we could honestly do that in football or basketball. This season has been a magical one for sure and I was around for the last two SWC championship seasons.....but either of those two compare to this year.

And, it's only going to get better. We are building a fantastic situation.

First time I've been alive and old enough to do a bracket with SMU in it. Didn't do many March Madness brackets as a 5 year old.

I was actually thinking, it happened too quickly. I wish this team had taken two to three years so that I could (and our younger fans) appreciate the journey--"lightning in a bottle" is extremely rare. But at my age three years might be too long!
