This would be the best storyline of the first weekend of the tourney.

It would be a great stroy. Hopefully, we will improve our seeding over the next week.

Not sure how Joe drops us a seed when we won our only game easily and half the teams ahead of us lost??

Hard to see Kentucky having a better seed and hard for me to see the Beloved Razorbacks as a 11 seed. This isn't a well evaluated projection giving what has happen over the last week.

How do the tournament brackets work?
I understand it is a mini ranking depending on the region you are in. Are we going to be put in the East? I would prefer the Midwest region in Indianpolis. That seems like a more feasible path.

It's about a whole year, not one week. It's the body of work. Let me pose this and it might help answer why. What did SMU prove by beating UCF in a fairly sloppy game? UCF is not RPI top 100 and it was at home. RPI and SOS are the catalysts to the formula. This is where have a #303 OOC SOS kills a team is seeding. And the overall RPI doesn't indicate a top 6 seed either. #39 doesn't even put SMU in the top 9 seeds if you used that alone. Couple that with a few really bad losses, that's what the tourney sees. I personally think it's stupid. As for UK, I agree, they're dogshyt on a lot of nights. S. Carolina proves how bad that team can be, but they can also be one of the top 10 in the country on a given night. But I do think their body of work is weak overall, they're buoyed by SOS and RPI when it's said and done.

One reason could be that smu's rpi dropped from playing UCF. Plenty of time to move up the rankings and seedings if we win some more games.

Just beat the teams you play and the rest will work out. Trust me, we beat Louisville, Memphis, and AAC tourney, I'm sure we'd all be very happy with the seed we get. Lose from here on out and we get the seed we deserve.
Just have to keep winning!!
Starts with Louisville (probably the "easiest" game to win the rest of the season since we're at home, so let's start March out right and bury these suckers!!).

What if we get into a region that doesn't play in Hawaii? Will we just not go?
Oh, wait. Wrong coach.

we could win the conf tourney and lunardi would still have us as an 8 and uconn as a 4

Please tell me you don't really believe this or can't see why they are seeded where they are at the moment?
