Lot's of DMN Love

I almost fell off my stool around the kitchen counter this morning. There, in big bold headline in the top half of the DMN sports section it said, "Dallas' hottest ticket: the Mustangs?"

Yep, Timmy Cowlishaw himself is now one of latest passengers to hop aboard the Mustangs bandwagon. Oh, and if THAT wasn't grabbing enough, the entire page 2 was devoted totally to the Mustangs with the continuation of Cowlishaws piece PLUS a huge pre-game article by Bill Nichols.

They even had a special insert box as to where folks can find CBSSN to watch the game. Listed all the carriers and what channel they were on.

Some things in life never cease to amaze me, that's why life is good. That, and this years' Moody magical season of The Mustang!! Thanks, LB and the entire bunch of a very special group of players for a very, very special season.

Now, I wonder how long it is going to take for the Teasip's, Sooner's, Sand Aggies and THE Aggies to start complaining to the DMN about all the ink they are devoting to SMU?

Cowlishaw has always said good things about SMU when we gave him the chance. When we went to our first bowl with JJ, he mentioned us on the 'Around the Horn' segment when he won.

I have said many times that the DMN will start to care about the Mustangs when the school and the alumni care - all a sports department wants is a product to sell, and you can't sell 30 years of complete irrelevance to the Dallas sports market. Well, now that the school got behind the basketball team, made a committment, and took some chances that have paid dividends faster than anyone could have imagined the DMN is going to give the Mustangs, in either football or basketball, the attention they deserve, for better or for worse. Here's hoping it's for better.

I am headed to pick up a paper now. EJ actually started to "Hottest Ticket in Town" subject with some good research he had done in the DMN yesterday. Got to give him some credit.

The article even hit Bing Sports. So not just Dallas will take note. Got to love the excitement

Like the reference to the MUSTANGS. Maybe we need a little less "SMU" and a little more "Mustangs" on the local scene. Sounds good. Looks good.
Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks, Mustangs, Stars

Still seems a little passive aggressive . . . the headline ends in a question mark and says stuff like "surprising as it is sudden". I mean, I'll take it but why can't they just say "SMU is damn good this year, selling out Moody, ranked #18, etc". Period.

The point of the article is the suddenness (of Dallas taking note), hence those comments

Both valid points. But I'm so tired of the sudden storyline. That's been the whole story since at least the Cincy game. How long can they run out that same storyline?

Time to change the narrative to "how far could they go in the tourney?"

Do they get DMN at Plano West? Better send copies to their locker room just in case.
