Sorry not sure what his status is. Something i was wondering was what are the requirements for a medical redshirt in basketball. Is Yanick even close? I have no clue how many games you have to miss to qualify and I dont know how many Yanick has missed and I could look it up but im not.

LB said he wished Yanick could have got more minutes last game and that he would hopefully see more floor time tonight.

Uh, likely never be?

Are you buddies with his PT and surgeon or just throwing out that bold claim?

Nothing definite, but from IG, it appears to me that he is done. I really am not sure he'll be the same. Again, pure speculation just on social media. If he is out does he red shirt next year or we release him?

I was in sports medicine for a while. This one seems to be a chronic issue from here out. Seems like he'll just have to live with it. If he was pain free and 100% mobile he would be playing.

Yup this. Serious injury, I remember just three days ago when it was suggested as coach speak and that got laughed off. SMU is gonna be lucky if he plays again this year, just keeps lingering.

Again in today's press-conference, Brown said he wished he had played Yanick. Didn't mention any injury at all. If he was injured, why wouldn't Brown simply state that to be the case?

If he wasn't injured, it's hard for me to believe he wouldn't be playing more. I hope he's able to return to form, but I doubt it will happen this year.

In your sports medicine experience, do MCL tears ever translate to chronic issues?

We really missed him tonight. It appeared that Marcus struggled getting any momentum in the paint and Yanick might have offered a good chnage of pace.

Could have grabbed a couple more boards too.
