OT: Is there really a question who the best CBB player is

Postby OhioBrownFan » Sat Mar 08, 2014 10:44 pm

Parker is putting on a clinic tonight. This is unreal. Wiggins had a heck of a night against WVU, but this is just on another level in terms of scoring in every possible way. He's got 8 boards to go with his 28 points and there's still nearly 8 minutes to play. I really don't understand how a NBA GM is even debating who they would take with the #1 pick. Guy is a sure thing and the complete package out of a 3.

Love McDermott but he couldn't begin to hold Parker's jock. Especially not defensively and down low on the block. Parker could average 40 a night if he really wanted to.

I think McDermott wins the Naismith.

I don't buy that at all. McDermott was nasty as a frosh too, just hidden in he MVC. He's very skilled on all levels offensively. Defensively, not so much, but jabari isnt a lockdown 3 either. If we're talking pro potential, it's clearly Parker. If we're talking college McDermott means the most to his team

I agree. I should've phased this question as is there really a question as to who should be the #1 pick in the draft. In my mind it's unquestionably Parker I guess.

As for Hoopman, still don't think McDermott could hang with Parker. McDermott is more important, but Parker as a freshman is the best player on Duke's team. That should say a lot by itself. Coach K won't have many of these kids walk through.

So yesterday I listed Jabari Parker as a 3 (when comparing to MK) and had posters tried to tell me that he is a 4 or 5. Took a day, but glad that we can all agree that Parker is a 3. By no means does MK compare to Parker in all around talent, but in terms of prototypical size for a 3, definitely. Just good to know who established National Powers like Duke play at their 3 if we truly want to be an elite program.

Jabari Parker is the standard for a 3 in college this season. Probably the most complete player.

He plays the 4 at Duke 95% of the time lol. They don't have anyone half as good with his size to pound down there so they have to play him there. Kind of like Q Ross at Ohio State, plays the 4 even though he's a 3. Ohio State has no other bigs to turn to that are capable of playing the position well. Hood plays the 3 in their starting line-up....

Almost impossible to argue that OBfan after tonight, between Hood, Parker, Paige, McAdoo, Johnson and others, we saw some serious talent on the court tonight. Jabari stole the show, but there was some serious next level play on the court.
