Women's basketball is suffering major losses next season. Ironically, women's basketball will be impacted more than football and men's basketball when Louisville and Rutgers depart. SMU really needs to step it up there.

5 from the American is not at all surprising to me.

I am more surprised that there is only 1 SEC team in the final AP Top 25 (albeit a very good one).

Perhaps the AAC model works against some of these "Power" conferences. While they just beat each other up week to week and hurt each others chances, we have a clear upper and lower class that allows half of our teams into the top 25.

Why don't we get more respect as a conference?

There is no reason why commentators should say the Big 10 or Big 12 are the best!

It's because our bottom five don't hold up. The bottom half of the Big 12 would wax the AAC bottom five. With TCU being the exception

Big 12 is clearly the best. I'm not saying that as a homer as I wish great death to the conference. The AAC just has such wide separation between the top 5 and the rest, "top 5" gets to rack up W's.

I am glad we did not go to the MWC either.

Sure seems that way this year, although ACC in Men's is very strong in my opinion as well.

I don't know if that is true. UCF, Temple and Houston could all hang with the bottom half of the Big 12 in my opinion.

There will be one more poll though right after all the conference tournaments?

Meaning this is not the final poll, we need to beat Houston to hang on one more week I would think to be ranked in the final poll.

Or win the conference tourney. Nothing wrong with that is there?
