Nic Moore/offense in general- get it together

Postby East Coast Mustang » Thu Mar 13, 2014 2:14 pm

Nic is a terrific player, as evidenced by his First Team All-AAC selection, but his juvenile BS is getting old. Two T's now in crucial moments of disappointing losses- USF and Houston. He absolutely deserved that one today and it was a backbreaker- 3pt swing and huge momentum shift all because he felt the need to shove a guy after a foul had been called against them.

Also the failed lobs and idiotic half court passes that inevitably go off the fingertips and out of bounds are really frustrating to watch- and that's not just Nic. We overlook stuff like this in games we win (I remember something like three consecutive failed alley oops in the 2nd half of the Cincy game) but they've KILLED us in our losses this year. And please don't get me started on WTF we were doing offensively at 64-61 where we didn't attempt a 3 or really run anything- Nic just dribbled around and gave it to MK on what was probably a bum ankle to go up to the rim. I love Larry and he's forgotten more about bball than we'll ever know- but why not take a timeout there and set something (anything) up??!?! Geez.

Typical SMU [deleted] the bed at the end of the season and limps into the tourney, killing all the momentum we've had from a great season- really hope we can avoid a 12 seed but I wouldn't argue it at this point.

Well said, just have to look at the little things - missed FTs, bad decisions, stupid fouls over the back, and missing wide open shots. If you told me Nic wouldnt score I would have said we most likely lose too.

I don't the lob plays as they are part of the offense but the 3/4 court passes to bigs at times needs to be reconsidered at this time of the season of out bigs do not have good hands.

This is three games in a row that we fell apart in the second half. What is up with that?

He has a bad ankle, is frustrated and is forcing things.

After half, he can't move as well. Other people are cheating to help out and give more space on the perimeter, so the other teams are nailing threes. No dribble penetration.

We are really dependent on him. Once he was injured, the team stalled out. Next year, we add another point, and things will change because we will have more depth.

His ankle is just fine. That comes from a source as close as it gets.
